The Navigator Cardinal Points are an important component to being a Navigator and should be reviewed at each meeting or at least regularly.  This is a fun activity to get the kids more familiar with the words, what they mean, and create something that they will be able to use at all meetings in the future.

Start by reviewing each word and talking about the meaning and how we can incorporate the ideas into our daily life and why they are important for Navigators.

You can stop here if that is all you want to do, otherwise move on to the craft portion of activity.

• Create a craft space that can get messy
• Collect supplies including wooden boards, thick poster board cut into sections or left whole, paint or markers, list of cardinal points
• Assign a cardinal point to each kid and provide a board and marking equipment
• Let each kid write and decorate a board with their assigned cardinal point
• Connect each board into a single hanging piece of art to display at each meeting and hang at your campsite to identify your group.  Or display the poster board if it is all in one piece.
